In our “creator in the spotlight” section, we spotlight creatives and entrepreneurs to talk about their passion. This time a we talk to Senna of sustainable clothing brand Sevaes from Rotterdam.
What does Sevaes represent?
Sevaes is derived from my name, Senna van Esch, and stands for much more than just a sustainable clothing brand. My mission is to make fashion that lasts. I believe in clothes that you continue to enjoy wearing, not trends that disappear quickly. That’s why I focus on upcycling existing clothes, as well as refashioning, repairing and tailoring unique pieces. Everything I make is personal and made with attention. No mass production, but sustainable fashion with a story.

What exactly does Sevaes do?
At Sevaes, we make unique items for both men and women. Think upcycled denim jackets or trousers, for example, as well as accessories such as bags and hats. We give used materials such as old clothes or deadstock materials a second life in the form of new, unique garments and accessories. I also make fully customised garments. Whether it’s an item that needs to fit perfectly or a specific idea someone wants to have worked out, I make sure the garment becomes truly personal.

How do you like nominette’s labels?
I really like Nominette’s labels. I chose the 25 mm premium logo labels with an end-fold finish. They look super sleek and professional, exactly what I was looking for for Sevaes. Shipping was also really quick, which is really nice when you’re eager to get on with your work.

What can we expect from Sevaes in the future?
In the near future, you can expect even more sustainable collections from us, with unique designs and materials with a story. We will also expand our repair service and start workshops where you can learn how to repair or upcycle clothes yourself.
